I did a search, and could only find a few postings from three or four years ago. I'm a little wary about this program, since I haven't seen a lot of information here about it, and I take the ESL Cafe to be a bit of an authority of reviews of teaching programs.

My boyfriend was looking into getting into this program. Apparently, they have an office in Memphis, TN, and he had a -- what he described as a somewhat casual and informal -- phone conversation with a representative there. I'm perpetually suspicious of something that I can't find a lot of information on, and since I haven't seen anything here, I'm wondering if anyone has had an experience or knew of anyone who has worked through this program.

I'm advising my boyfriend to research another program, perhaps something more well-known and established. We're both actually looking into going to work in China, and I suspect I will probably pursue matters through my university before I go with a random website. Also, $2200 for a program fee seems like a lot.. I'm not sure how common this is for teaching in China. Even though it supposedly includes TEFL training, I'm still treading with caution.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

$2,200 for a "program" to teach English in China? Even with TEFL training, which is dubious to say the least, it makes no sense to pay and extra $2,200 to find a position. Just search here and other sites for positions. They aren't going to find you any 'cake' jobs, they're just going to get paid a relatively princely sum to hook you up. You can bet they will be paid by the school as well.
If you want/need a TESOL/TEFL certificate, choose one of the many other low cost courses advertised on the main page, or go legit with a CELTA/Trinity.
I finished an ITTT course for about $225, and it is accepted here, at least at the three schools where I work so far.
In short, I'm very suspicious of any outfit that charges you money to find you a job. It is just not necessary. The TEFL course part sounds like another trick to lure you in.
Just my opinion ...
Cool

I looked at the link you posted and recognised the website from an earlier thread. It didnt show up when I did the search, so I went through manually and found it. I knew it wasnt long ago so I didnt have to search back too far. It was easier to do that than write a long reply Smile
