You can. It's just not as easy. |
Most major mainboard makers have a utility to flash the BIOS from within Windows. Floppy drive flashes are indeed old school. That goes for most all firmwares as well. |

| What struck me is how expensive that is compared with Dell USA where the same thing would cost maybe $1000. I would shop around before paying dell that much. |

I see what you're getting at.
Yes, now I can use the flash utility because I've got ver. 1008. But, I started with ver. 1003 and the flash utility wanted no part of that. |

Ahh. Don't worry. Anything after 1004 dupports dual-cores. |
