Whenever I'm on a computer that bans certain sites, I try out some of the really messed up URLs I know. It might block Fark for instance, but it's helpless if you want to go to Goatse.

its honestly starting to piss me off. They are banning websites that are just news sites and sites I use for my education. Its annoying.

Could be.
There are / were some videos of Korean kids bullying (punishment beatings) on there somewhere.
Also there was a high profile case of a teacher beating on a student, which was recorded on camera phone and put on Youtube and other sites.
Schools might consider it for either reason.
