Yes, the samples for this text are really familiar so you probably already know what the text says, but look at the words itself and decide which one you would prefer to read the rest of a book in (any book), and which one you understand better. I left the option to like one but understand the other just in case you prefer a language that isn't as easy to read.
I'll give the background to this a bit later.
Language 1:
Quote: |
(2) Quande illi migrat ex li oriente, illi venit in un valley in li land Senaar, e illi logiat in it. E illi havet briques in vice de lpides e bitumine in vice de calce. (8) E talmen Deo dividet les ex ti loc in li tot munde; e illi cessat edificar li cit. (9) E pro to on nmina ti loc Babel, proque ta li lingues del tot munde esset confuset.

Of course I have to be awkward!
I find both equally easy to understand but like 'two' better because it has that 'Italian' feel to it ('one' has more of a dry 'Latin' feel).
I voted for option 'two' though |

Doubt you'll be getting a reply from that turkey.
Last time you did this I found the choice easier. I am going to go with the LGG absence of explanation technique and just vote for number 1 because I like the feel better. |

I voted for number one but I'm not really sure which language I like better. I'd have to hear them spoken by someone who can do so correctly and then decide. I care more about how a langauge sounds than what it looks like when written. I can follow both fairly well, but mostly because I'm very familiar with this passage. |

I didn't understand either language - but I managed to figure out what story it was while looking at the second passage (after having already read part of the first). It's hard to say if I would have caught on sooner or later if you'd reversed the order. |

I liked Language One better for a couple of reasons.
The diacritics above the vowels put me at ease, as I felt that I had a phonetic guide.
Also, I read them out loud (quietly) to myself as I read them, and Language One just felt more comfortable, rolling off my tongue more easily. I don't know why. |

I am with Troll_Bait. I like one more as I feel more comfortable with it and understand it better.
Now come on Mith, come out with it, did you invent one of them? |
