I have just looked at the health insurance policy with my employer and I am a little worried. I am here to save money and I was wondering if anyone has got travel insurance for the year.

I can get insurance for $650 AUD for the year and that will totally cover me for all medical and hostpital plus property. If I take this policy out, can I not pay health insurance here in Korea?

I know I must sound paranoid but my friend lives in china and had a $5000 hospital bill for an operation from an accident. I don't want to be stuck with something like that if I fall over skiing and break my leg

Can I ask anyone for some advice?

I am new to korea, but I opted out of the health thing. I just told my employer that I have my own insurance and she doesn't deduct it from my pay check. I still want to pension though which is a great deal. You put away around 4% and they match it with the same. So as long as you stick out the contract it's good.

you cant opt out of national health insurance its required of all foreigners here. Besides its not that much money and pretty decent coverage

I'm pretty sure you can't get pension and not medical... you either go on the books or off...
