Who on this planet commenced the habi of using two periods at the end of sentences?!
..
I have uni students who are doing this all the time!! Their (Korean) English Junior High School teacher should be dragged outside to the soccer pitch, allowed to finish his cigarett, blindfolded and executed by a firing squad! I just don't get it! Somebody please explain this to me! |

Possible explanation.
When I'm translating from Korean into English I often highlight the Korean sentence and then type over it in English. I've noticed that the sentence typically doesn't include the period and I often end up with two periods because I reflexively type one. At the end of the process I go through and clean then up. |

While we're on the topic, what's with the habit of not putting spaces after punctuation in Korea? I've never seen this anywhere else, by I can't get my writing classes to bother with spacing! |

No doubt the same guy or gal who came up with the idea of using only one parenthesis in telephone numbers: 032) 343-XXXX. |
