If you HAD to sit down for two hours and have dinner alone with any dictator past or present, dead or alive - who would you choose and why?
If there is a language barrier, you can have a translator present. |

Stalin
I'd take him to outback, have a nice stake, tell a few jokes, maybe a few Jewish or Polish ones. Reminisce about Hitler and Stalingrad. Then maybe after a few drinks head back to mine and watch some 24. Then what happens , happens. |

Pol Pot
by far the greatest, i.e. craziest dictator of all time. Even after being in power he never yielded to the temptations of wealth.. |

Augustus II, King of Poland and Elector of Saxony (Augustus II the Strong).
August's great physical strength earned him the nicknames "the Strong, "Saxon Hercules and "iron hand. He liked to show that he lived up to his name by breaking horse shoes with his bare hands.
Augustus loved fine arts and architecture. During his reign, palaces were built, mainly in Dresden, known for centuries of extraordinary cultural and artistic splendor.
Moreover, he is alleged by some to have sired either 365 or 382 illegitimate children.
Ah, to be king... I could learn a lot from a guy like that.

A leisurely two-hour dinner with the "Dean of Dictators" (no translator required)
(ian Smith said had he ^ lived longer than he did, Rhodesia would still be in existence today. )
which of course would be followed by a four-hour dessert with his great-granddaughter
(okay, close enough) |

He was also a smart guy, and into boats. He did his best to drag Russia into what then passed for modern times.
He was also the first to implement the "retreat east and let the winter take care of the enemies" policy in defending Russia. He did this to defeat a Swede, Charles XII, who at the time had most of Europe. Then Alexander did it against Napoleon, and then Stalin against Hitler.
Maybe Hitler thought third time lucky.
