Just what it says. Assuming I buy a fairly cheap car, what are the minimum costs of ownership in Korea. Just basic 3rd party insurance, registration etc? |

Thats a good question. I would also like to know the answer.
Excluding the cost of the actual car and gas. How much is insurance, registration, and any other fees involved in having a car? |

I paid 470000won for third party insurance on a 6 year old Matiz in my first year.
I think the tax fee for the Matiz was under 50000. I have to get a safety check done this year (a 2year inteval!).
All highway and tunnel fees are half price for cars under 800cc. |

That insurance is pretty expensive then.
Does it stay about the same for older cars? |

Sorry I don't know. I don't think it would make a difference for third party. I got full insurance and better liability cover for 391000 this year. It's my second year of insurance in Korea. |
