Basically, I found a little kitten today. I really can't keep it. First, does anyone want it? I have heard it crying for a few days, and finally found it today. I got it some dry food; can't find wet food at the vet I went to. If no one wants it, can I take it to a vet and will they take it? What are some other resources that I can use to make sure the kitten gets a good home? It's kind of an emergency as the kitten will not eat anything and is crying constantly. Thanks!

I think you'd better take the kitten to the vet. How big is it?

It is really tiny. It's head is about the size of an underdeveloped lime. It just goes into dark corners and cries! I feel so bad!

Will the vet take it in and find it a home? I don't speak enough conversational Korean to discuss a kitten's life. What should I say?

I'd say you need someone to translate.

Does it go to the bathroom yet? Kittens don't start doing that until a little over a week old.

Try feeding the kitten plain yogurt rather than dry food. It might be too young for solids.

Any chance you can upload a picture? I'll try to help you out.

Try this site. They rescue a lot of dogs and cats in Korea.

By the way, I have known people who found tiny abandoned kittens and successfully raised them to be healthy adult cats.

It sounds like its too young to be weaned, poor thing. Cows milk is better than nothing I guess...
btw, if you take it to the vet, they will most likely have it killed (in the gas rooms they use here) because it needs care and many Koreans don't like buying strays. Instead they will pay hundreds of dollars for a bred kitten.

you need to check that lonelylifetime site. there's a tutorial on how to care for a kitten that is too young to be away from mom.

you can buy kitten/puppy formula in pet shops here. there's a number of different brands.

but most importantly you need to help buddy poo. if it is too young he needs to have it massaged out of him until it learns how to squeeze it out. if you don't do this, it could die. of what, i'm not sure. septic shock perhaps?

lonelylifetime is based in daejon. i'm sure if you email them they'll jump at the chance to help you.

Leave it there.

If it's going to die let it die.

Things have been living and dieing for a long time without us having to project our emotions onto animals and feel the urge to rescue them.

Let nature take its course

If that's the case, I rescind my suggestion to go to a vet. I have a good vet who would likely keep the cat and look for a home. He usually has several dogs up for adoption.

Milk might not be as safe as plain yogurt, but whatever the cat eats is good.

true, but some of us are softies. i heard an abandoned kitten outside my classroom crying for 2 days and i just had to do something. i'm comfortable with the idea of killing animals, but i couldn't just let the little gaffer die.

I took it to the vet, and the guy was really nice. He said he'd keep it for three days, then call me. After that, I have two choices: I can keep it or they can give it to an animal shelter. I obviously can't take it. I'd love it, but I just work too much and am slightly allergic.

You have no idea what I went through to rescue it. For the past week I have heard kitten meows. I investigated a few times, following the cries, and saw one little white one. I tried to catch it, but to no avail. I finally got the little grey one today when it woke me up with its cries. It was hiding in the undercarriage of cars, near the tires and whatnot. I followed it for 15 min through cars, and finally got the little sucker!

Oh! It is just so sweet and cue, but so scared and hungry. If I get it back in a few days, I am going to try and find a home for it. Please let me know if anyone you know is interested. PM me for my number.

So you ripped it from the companionship of it's sibling so that it can cower in the dark in your apartment Shocked

Let me guess, you make it sleep in a pot with carrots and other veggies. Confused

It is really sad, when people do "small things" to ease their conscience but never follow through. If you didn't want the cat, you shouldn't have took him. There are enough suffering in the shelters.
