And why would people get pleasure from calling America names? Because they hate America, of course. This comes up like clockwork whenever the US is described in terms that upset Gopher. But again, who has been calling America names in this thread? One fruitloop stopped in to mention that he considers America a fascist country, along with all the other modernised capitalist societies. Great. Gopher's somewhat paranoid and defensive imagination is filling in the rest.

Actually, I'm reminded of something that happened to a Kiwi friend of mine a few years ago. She was with some commonwealth friends at a bar in Kanagawa prefecture, not far from Yokosuka, and they were discussing the war in Iraq and President Bush in some pretty unpleasant terms. Some Navy guys were also in the bar and they overheard the conversation, so they went over to the girls' table and said something like "It sounds like y'all are pretty angry at our country. Allow us to buy you some drinks to make it up to you". Things went well, and now my friend is married to one of those guys - an E-2 pilot - and is now living with him in the States. Not to say of course that Americans should turn criticism of the US into opportunities for cheesy pick-up lines; I'm just imagining Gopher in that situation walking over to the table and berating the girls for their bitter, leftist, allegation-driven discourse, then going back to base to watch science fiction, alone.

Again not necessarily. They could be trolling simply to get a response.

Don't you find it a tad convenient, TC, that everything he says is sincerely felt and appropriate (according to himself), but anyone criticizing the US or Bush is a whacko? Even when the "whackos" are a large majority of the US population and a vast majority of the world population?

Someone want to tell me why gopher needed yet another sock?

Fascist AmeriKa, In 10 Easy Steps

From Hitler to Pinochet and beyond, history shows there are certain steps that any would-be dictator must take to destroy constitutional freedoms. And, argues Naomi Wolf, George Bush and his administration seem to be taking them all.

Have you even read his threads? He has criticized Bush on several occasions.

I don't know why Gopher needs another sock, but maybe you could tell us why IGTG does?

My comment to igtg was because the article he posted is what the thread was based on, so why post it again?

The rest of your comments make no sense, which is better than the your usual bull, however.
