|
|
Ok, I recent found out or am assuming if you read my other post that my employer is not paying into the pension plan to the government.
So I am kind of thinking that he might not be paying into the health insurance also, but deducting it from my salary. Is there anyway to find out for sure if he is paying into my health insurance, because if he isn't I definitely want that money back.
Is there anything I can ask to see that he can show me or is there a number I can call to find out for sure?
Please, any and all information is appreciated.
Thanks |

your employer should have given you a small booklet at the start of your contract with your Health Insurance number in it as well as your name and so on. Without that form of proof, how would you verify to the doctor your coverage? You've been lucky so far to have not needed it. Your employer seems to have taken advantaged of you.

| Looks like he's been screwing you on medical too. You should have been given a card for the national health plan. |

Do you have one of these?
If not, you do not have the mandatory NHIC insurance (unless you are new here and it is still being processed).

Call the NHIC, pension office, tax department (were you paying more than 1.7% in taxes?) and keep the labor board number handy.
You got fooked royally. |

I don't mean to sound like a total cynic, but, do they still teach in college.
I mean every one that takes these teaching jobs should have a degree.
So in college do they tell you don't read contracts they are meaningless.
Then they must teach you things like, if your employment contract has a clause about health insurance ignore it, trust your employer to pay your bill.
Pension plans aren't really an easy way to double your with-holdings, private pension plans are the best, especially in Foreign countries.

Does anyone happen to have all of those numbers on hand by any chance or can give me a link to another thread in which they were posted?
Get this, after I originally posted this I talked to him and asked for the health insurance card that I should have got 11 months ago. I came up with an excuse saying I needed it because I was going to "buy" some "medication" from the pharmacy. That is when he kind of got a little jumpy and was like, buy what? medicine for what? I just said personal things and he said well we don't have the health card thing. He said if you get injured we would pay for it directly. Yeah, sure I am suppose to believe that. If I were to get seriously injured for more than like $1000 worth, they are going to be kind enough to fork over loads of money to cover my injured ass? I don't think so.
I guess things have gone pretty smooth this past year and have always been paid on pay day so I didn't even stop to think about it all fully and I only became aware that sketchy things were going on when asking for my e-flight ticket home and a copy of the contract to take to the pension office and he said oh no don't go there we will pay you that directly. So, yes cbc they do teach us in college lol, but when you grow up around mostly legit companies you give people the benefit of the doubt.
So tomorrow I am thinking about going in with all the numbers on hand. Tell them that if they don't book my return flight immediately and give me the e-ticket, give me my last month pay, severance, pension AND my portion of my health insurance right away I will call all of those places on the spot and cause a big ruckus. I don't want to take the chance of getting screwed over, eventhough they paid my coworker that went back to England his money and didn't screw him over. On the other hand though, they screwed him out of the health insurance as well and he doesn't get pension refunded being from England.
What do you guys think? See if they pay me all my money up front or just call all the places on them and then have to fight for it later possibly. Cause I really don't want to cause more trouble than necessary with having 27 days technically left on my contract, but because I didn't take all of my vacation days he is letting me go home early and on June 29th rather than finishing July 9th. |

pension office = 02-2240-1083/5. Call and tell them you're checking your account. They'll ask for your ARC number. If they don't have you, it's not being paid.
Your health card number is the same. I don't have their phone number right now.
Anyway, your boss isn't paying them. He's just pocketing the money. Taxes, too.
He owes you everything he deducted and his share of the pension. I don't know what your slary is, but that's probably well over 3 million Won. You'd of course be out the health and taxes, but he didn't pay those. That would add up to maybe what? 1.5 millon total? Since he didn't pay health, he must give that all back to you. It's going to take too long to get all that cash from all the offices, so you should settle with him on an amount.
I'd also suggest you don't leave your job early. He might fk you w/ that somehow. Maybe. But it gives you more time to collect. Think of what the total amount would be and then settle with him on an amount you can live with. Get all the money, your plane ticket, and chalk it up as a learning experience. Then get the fk out of Dodge.
What's your salary? Let me know, and I'll tell you how much he owes you. |

| I have NHI coverage and since I am over 65 it covers a lot more. My last doctor visit cost me 1200 Won and the 10 days of prescription drugs were 500 W. I could learn to like this. |

| He's stealing from you. When someone steals from you, do you worry about not reporting them at the expense of inconveniencing yourself? |
