take subway line 7 to "children's grand park" (orini degongwon) station (exit 1)
or subway line 5 to "achasan" station (exit 4)

There are signs. You can see many street signs that are in both KOrean and English. Very easy to find.

I went last year. The flower gardens were nice. The emaciated big cats and the polar bears with green coats . . . not so much.

they have polar bears??? the ostrich was looking pretty rough when i saw it with my students. is there a real zoo in seoul?

Yes, and it is depressing too. Especially the conditions the primates live in.

I thought it was impressive how they were able to recreate the bear's natural habitat of a sh*t-stained concrete cage. It's the only zoo where I've seen the monkeys carving shanks from treebranches and making moonshine in the toilet.

FYI the park will be converted to an urban green park soon--that's why entrance is free right now.

(I live next door and am looking forward to the change)
