How about getting a thread going where everyone uses Korean? I'd do it myself but I'm in the UK right now and do not have easy access to computers with Korean on them.

I know speaking with native Koreans is a better and more natural way to do it, but we can have some fun amongst ourselves too. After all, aren't we always advising our students to use English with each other?

I write messages in Korean on a Korean mountain biking website about once a week but feel cheeky about asking them to correct my mistakes. Here however we are with other learners, who may be at a similar level to ourselves, and as long as we are not bitchy with each other we could all learn a lot.

I myself will have to leave my pride at home. I've been in Korea on and off for about 5 years and I'm guessing a lot of the keen learners are better than me after only a short time.

So, stupid idea with the potential to be mocked and flamed, or maybe a bit of silly but helpful fun?

It took me WAY too long to write that. I hate sentences. Sentences suck.

Kiwiduncan

Always a fan of bibimbab myself. As for summer plans (well, post-summer), go back to Korea where I can actually regularly write in Korean again.

I'll have to give up on these chats for the next few months. I've seen some other threads with lots of Korean postings but I just thought I'd get the ball rolling with a new thread specifically intended to get posters hopefully helping each other with their studies.

My Korean got up to about maybe high-int after 5 years in Korea, but has since slipped down to intermediate in the year that I've been away. Tonight I might spent some time reading Korean language internet printouts about bicycles on New York's subway, and I guess I'll just have to focus on reading and vocab until I am back in Korea.

Have fun with your studies and try not to tear each other apart boys

I'm going to take this oppertunity to re-ask a question I once started a thread about but got zero responses.

I'm using an Apple computer and the Safari browser and I'd like to type in Korean on this forum but I'm unable to. I have no problems on other forums.

If you can help me, I'll do my best to contribute to this thread.

for whatever reason, Daves wont' give a dedicated korean forum. but there are a couple of other message boards and blogs that do. I'm sure if you look around you'll find something.
