Hi. Just moved to Tanhyun' Dong in Ilsan.

Working at Hogok Elementary School

Don't know many people here.

Anyone living around the area, want to meet up and help this newbie to the area establish some social contacts...?

I've lived in Korea for three years and have lived in a different area of Ilsan before, but most of my old friends have left Korea and I don't know any one in Tanhyun' Dong.

Any social groups or clubs etc....?

I lived in Hannam City beofore and one of the long termers there used to arrange these monthly meetings at a chicken hoff for all the foriegn teachers in the area.

I know there are a lot of public schools in the area (I'm working at Hogok elementary) so if any of you fellow waegook sarahm working at them want to hook up for a beer or coffee or whatever, give me a shout by PM....

I'm pretty chilled out and am not a serial murderer or anything, just a 31 yr old English guy who loves books, movies, good food and relaxing with like minded peeps....

Ciao

3 years in and you have to hit up message boards looking for friends? Sounds a bit odd to me.

Well...no wonder you have no mates with a potty mouth like that. Ilsan is chocka block full with foreigners, a lot of whom are long timers, you didn't meet any that you got on with. Sounds like you may well be a freaky waygook candidate.

I'm thinking you haven't read "how to win friends and influence people" Edition 17 published 2006 with extra chapter on trawling the internet for "cyber friends", anyways...i'll cut to the chase, It basically says that when sinking to the lowest denominator and having to use the internet to meet people, you should try to avoid coming across as a psycho. Good luck though...i'm sure you will have people beating down your door in no time at all.

Wow, your advice is very appreciated.

You seem like the kind of person most of us could do with knowing!

You are very knowledgable and like to help those less fortunate!

Well, why don't we hook up?

Hmmm.

An aggressive, sarcastic, rude and unhelpful idiot who responds uneedlessly rudely to a genuine post by someone looking to make friend in a new area he's lived in for two days.

Yeah, I'm sure you're just the kind of friend people want.

Look geek, I was replying to you to keep the thread bumping and to see how low I could get you to go.

Your weird stalkery behaviour is worrying, sad and frankly, pointlessly rude.

Find something else to do or someone else to insult huh?

Like - um, your Mother....

Geek aye, in my humble, barely worthy opinon, i would be more likely to use this term in regards to a guy who has been in a country for 3 years but feels the need to go trawling for friends on the internet as opposed to someone like myself, that's just me though.

Keep chugging along though...i'm sure someone really neat will drop you a "pm" and you guys will be able to meet up "or a coffee, bit of a chat, dose of rohipnol and a good anal buggering.

Okay quit now.

You're boring and childish.

What kind of a'hole feels it's okay to diss people they don't know when all they did was write a perfectly genuine, and friendly OP is beyond me.

Some sad, sad nasty people on this site, which reminds me why I stopped posting back in June...... It almost always (excluding a few okay posters) ends up making you feel like you're amnogst the worst possible company this planet has to offer.

Whats the matter, can't hanle the jandle? is this what it's going to be like when you meet some poor schmuck in real life? 3 minutes into a conversation of "why britain is an absolute craphole full of chavs and football hooligans" are you going to throw down your toys and run away.
Just remember what mummy told you "Poor schnookims...don't listen to this big bad bullys, you will always be my special little man".
