Hey everyone,

this will be my first post here but i've been reading the forums for a while (just registered this week). was hoping if i could get a few pointers. I tried using the search function but kept getting a blank page for results. I'm sure this question has been asked before but due to technical difficulties I am not able to do the proper research.

I arrived in Seoul in early September and have been getting adjusted to life here. I'm currently attending the korean language school at yonsei university and am looking for a part time job so i can make my next quarter's tuition and well....eat. haha.

The question or request is, tips for making a resume for applying for teaching jobs. I have a BA with a degree in fine arts, and my old resume has nothing to do with teaching ( i have been freelancing as a photographer and graphic designer for the past couple years). i did teach art to children some 6 years ago though. So, I know this new resume is going to be short. i'm wondering if that's okay or if the korean's really look at your resume. i'm also a gyopo and know a tiny bit of korean, but i dont know if that helps or not.

thanks!!

Don't sweat it. Use your old resume, and make sure your little blurb about teaching young kids is in there somewhere.

Hagwons won't care, and will probably expect it for a newbee.

Just don't put private lessons taught in Korean on there, or that you taught adults in Korea after you've spent a year teaching kids. To find reason to bust you, immigration digs for that kind of crap with a fine-tooth comb, yet they are unable/unwilling to verify if our degrees are real or not.

I'm not up on what gyopos can do, but if you are legal to do it, then don't worry.
