Two migrant workers injured in crackdown

Two migrant workers were severely injured as they jumped from a church rooftop to escape a raid by immigration officers on Sunday, the Migrant Worker's House said yesterday.

Immigration officers in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, raided a Korean-Chinese church during a Thanksgiving's Day service on Sunday and got into a scuffle as they arrested unregistered migrant workers.

Several migrant workers tried to escape by jumping from the rooftop to a neighboring building, according to Kim Hae-sung, pastor and chief of the migrant workers' shelter.

One Chinese migrant worker broke his leg and injured his back while another broke both ankles and an arm. The two are being treated at a hospital in western Seoul.

Wow. Raiding a church during services? The current administration has just abandoned all pretense at giving a hoot about anything at all.

Korea has the right to enforce her immigration laws, even during imaginary friend time. The state is not at all responsible if you injure yourself escaping from law enforcement.

If only Benny Hinn was there, they could have gotten up and run away again.

What a jerk you have proven to be. And I base this observation on merely one post.

Ignorance is bliss. I'm guessing you've never read up on the atrocious ways that Korea's immigration has treated migrant workers in Korea. Let me just tell you, it's not a pretty picture. You don't know the full story behind this case, yet you are sure ready to pass your judgment. How do you know the police didn't come in there with riot gear ready to kick some serious ass? It's been done many times in the past. I've got some video footage if you care to see how they beat people to death. I'd just LOVE to share it with you.

Now, go back and read it again using your imaginary Jack Nicholson accent.

Educate yourself on the matter! It might open up that narrow mind of yours.

BTW, raiding a Church right in the middle of a Sunday Thanksgiving Day service is not exactly very classy. Say, where do you come from?
