Build a tunnel from Korea to Japan instead, like the one between England and France.

"This is a dream-inspiring project," Kyodo quoted former defense chief Seishiro Eto as telling reporters after a meeting with other interested lawmakers from various parties. "We'd like to promote it as a symbol of peace-building."
The lawmakers' group first plans to try to persuade Tokyo and Seoul to fund a feasibility study, Kyodo said.
Eto was not immediately available to comment on the report.
Relations between Tokyo and Seoul have improved since former Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi stepped down in 2006. Koizumi irritated Asian nations with annual visits to a war shrine that critics see as a symbol of Japan's past militarism.
Conservative South Korean President-elect Lee Myung-bak was born in Japan and is seen as Tokyo-friendly. Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda plans to attend his inauguration in Seoul later this month. |
It would make a lot more sense.

As long as the Chinese have no involvement in building it, I would seriously consider using it for a few days of shopping in Japan. Costs a little too much right now to fly, but at times can be worth it.

I recall Vanislander had a lot to say about this. It sounds like it'll go from Kyushu to Geoje.
The Japanese really want a mainland connection, and this is the best way. Not really a stupid idea at all. It would make a trip to Japan quite easy. |

The Japanese would sure take a more supportive role in reconciling North and South Korea if this rail link with mainland Asia were to happen. I can just see the Japanese businesses eyeing the potential for land trade with China as a huge plus for them. The Chinese would also love this link for trade in the other direction with Japan.
My take is that this is an excellent idea. It would definitely help the 60-year old war finally come to a conclusion. |

One part of me want to help protest the canal because it's obviously a bad idea.
Another sick side of me wants to watch them build it just to see what will happen.
A train seems to be a much better idea. |

bet you it wouldnt be cheap to use the train anyway..
from seoul to tokyo it would still be cheaper to fly and way faster..
good for people from pusan or people around fukoka.. but tokyo, osaka or seoul forget it.,. will cost hundreds of thousands of won and take half a day just to get there.. Id rather fly for 300.000 won and get there in 2 hours! |

Most retarded plan I've ever heard of...oh except for his other plan to have ALL Korean teachers in EVERY subject teaching their students in English. Oh and 99% of other Korean policies I've head about.
I thought crack was illegal here.
