these are the sports for me.
does anyone in Korea play the tennis game? are tennis courts to be found anywhere at all? I sure hope so.
also, I have heard that there are a couple of pro basketball teams out of Seoul and people there can get down with the global game. Will there be opportunities for me to dominate some Koreans in basketball? I think my post-up game will thrive playing against tiny humans. Are there courts/gyms that are accessible?
...im plotting my move and any information is appreciated. |

Hiya,
I like to play tennis when the opportunity strikes. It's not so easy in Korea though because free, open tennis courts can't be found on just any corner.
Rather, tennis courts usually required a reservation and a fee of some sort (depending on when you go ...). The benefit though is that such courts are usually well-maintained.
I know of a few courts in Bundang because that's where I live ...
Sunae-dong
-there is a couple of courts (viewable from the tancheon stream)
Guryong
-6-7 courts at a high school in the area
Coex Mall
-courts nearby the mall, but reservations are required
I haven't made any such reservations myself, as I've usually just gone via my company tennis group.
Best of luck with finding some courts. I'll post more information if I find it. |

I've got a racquet and am interested in finding tennis partners in Seoul. I've been playing most of my life, but am new to Korea and haven't played here. I'm near Gangnam, on line 2, but am willing to travel a bit.
If anybody is interested, or knows of any good clubs, please PM me. |

Yes! Just what I'm looking for.
I decided to leave my stick home, but my mom snuck it in. Maybe we can start a little Dave's tennis club. I've stopped watching Federer highlights on YouTube because I get this crazy itch to play I can't satisfy.
I live in the Bundang area. |

5.5
This player can hit dependable shots in stress situations; has developed good anticipation; can pick up cues from such things as opponent's toss, body position, backswing, preparation; first and second serves can be depended on in stress situations and can be hit offensively at any time; can analyze and exploit opponent's weaknesses; has developed power and /or consistency as a major weapon; can vary strategies and style of play in a competitive situation.
6.0 to 7.0
These players will generally not need NTRP ratings. Rankings or past rankings will speak for themselves. The 6.0 player typically has had intensive training for national tournament competition at the junior level and collegiate levels and has obtained a sectional and/or national ranking. The 6.5 player has a reasonable chance of succeeding at the 7.0 level and has extensive satellite tournament experience. The 7.0 is a world class player who is committed to tournament competition on the international level and whose major source of income is tournament prize winnings.
What is your rating? I'm about a 5.0 if that helps just so we can get the levels down. |

Where are you in the Bundang area, 640x480? Near or far from Seoul?
barneyy has indicated that there are courts near Coex (Seolleung station of line 2). Those are close to me, if anyone is interested.
I would probably get a 4.5 or 5.0 ranking. I'm still unable to send personal messages as I haven't reached 25 posts.
Happy hitting, everyone |

Anyone, level 3 to 5, in the Northeast Seoul area (I'm at Hwarangdae, one stop from the end of line 6) want to work on their singles game? And/or, anyone able to get to Olympic Park on Monday afternoons, we can rent some really nice courts on the cheap (7000w/hour). I'd put myself at level 4. |
