Gruel (죽) typically eaten when your sick. Anyone tried this? I've read it's similar to porridge. My GF will give me this.. |

There are dozens of different kinds and many I don't care for, but some are really good. |

Tell her to get you something normal. Pine needle gruel tastes as bad as it sounds. |

It's my favourite Korean food. Can't go wrong with the tuna variety |

Calling it gruel is cruel, what with the negative connotation of the former.
I prefer 'rice porridge.' |

I love Tuna so I would love to try that one....I think Salmon Juk would be good too...
But the only one I have tried is 팥죽 and it was horrible. I love 팥빙수 but the porridge is definitely an acquired taste. |

Just boil whatever you have on hand in the kitchen to an unidentifiable sludge.
Voila - wellbing! |

If you think it's ridiculous, why did you let the well-being tricksters fool you?
That's poor OPSEC. |

Make sure you put something like twang-jang or go-chu jang in it, because if you don't its going to taste bland
I liked it, I used to eat it after a night of drinking with my ex-gf's father.....cool for hangovers |

I ate nothing but a cup of it a day for 2 weeks (no kiddin). You'd think that'd make me sick of it, but i actually developed a taste for it. I imagine if it didn't hold a place in my mind as sweet, nourishing manna, it'd think it was bland and sh*tty. |
