No word on whether the "that boy" remark was a laugh line, but apparently no one got up and left, which would seem to have been indicated.
Oh, I forgot the "idiots" part.

The Nazis weren't as bad, see, because we knew where they lived. Hitler's mistake was raising an eighteen-million-soldier Wehrmacht and thereby revealing his position. The "Islamofascists" will not be repeating this error and are therefore much more dangerous.
My association with the Democratic Party is tenuous, and my problems with it legion, but incidents like the above highlight why I will never, ever, ever vote for any Republican for national office. When people like Reps. Davis and King, and Sens. McConnell, Bunning, and Stevens -- men whose personal attitudes are utterly despicable and whose politics range from the nonsensical to the crypto-fascist -- are the ones running the party, I will take no action that results in them receiving a single iota of additional power to influence the course of the nation. |

Democrats aren't that much better, but you don't see them making these sorts of statements on a regular basis. Okay, Clintons aside...
There is a big push by Democratic supporters to replace corrupt Rethugicans like Sen. Stevens. Stevens is up to his neck in corruption issues.

This is a critical election year with a lot of big name Rethugicans quitting to become lobbyists and/or retiring, plus with a lot of seats open this is a good chance to 'take out the trash'. If you don't like any of the Presidential candidates, fine. You don't have to vote for the big 3. However, don't pass up this chance to replace your unfriendly neighborhood Reich-winger with someone who's not (yet) a crook, racist, or fascist. |

Ahem... *clearing the throat*, and how is this thread title different from the stuff IGTG used to post in terms of the title? Would you kindly change the title to something less propagandistic instead of claiming every member of the GOP is this or that. It doesn't really open much of a two-sided discussion regardless of where you are on the aisle.
Mod's notes:
The said title was edited for it to conform with the TOS. The previous title did not include the title intended by the journalist. It was one thing to quote parts of it and then make a point, but another to post a propagandistic title. The TOS applies to people on both sides of the aisle, or whatever party. On a side note, it does not seem fair to journalists to use their work in such a way without first using their title. Then, you can decide to extrapolate to make whatever point of your choosing. That seems more judicious. Anyway, most of you are doing a fine job.

Given the OP's title and comments isn't it a pretty far out assumption to think that he is interested in a two-sided discussion?
I think this quote shows that. " I will never ever ever...
He is staking out his position not starting a discussion. |
