Torching cop cars, assualt, looting...
Ooh hoo the playoffs started. But just started, jee if I was inclined to turn over cop cars I'd at least have the good sense to wait until the third round.
Interesting sociological discussion on why fans go nuts when the team WINS rather than loses. Gotta like English footie fans who go ballistic BEFORE the match. Booze of course is the main reason. You drink more when your side wins.
But Jesus what's next---rioting when you squeek into the playoffs?
Come on Montreal---riot if and when you win the Cup. |

| The habs need it bad. They won the cup at least twice a decade until the nineties. Now it's been 15 years. |

| It wasn't Habs fans. Montreal has some punks and trouble makers who will use the cover of celebrating a win for the city to steal and cause mayhem. It was people taking advantage of legitimate fans. That's what I understand. |

I disagree. Montreal has a fine tradition of rioting during and after hockey games. And not just for hockey.

I was downtown for the last ones in '93 & '94.

| They won the first round. Big, effing deal. That's no reason to riot. Particularly when they had to go to game 7 with the 8th place team. Either winning this series will be their rallying point or a sign of trouble they'll have with better teams. Either way, i'm hoping for a Pens/Habs series at some point int he playoffs. |
