| If you have an E2 are you allowed to work anywhere as long as your employer agrees or only a government sponsered school such as a Public School? |

Uhm, no. If you do, it has to be on your Visa, so if you're employer tells you "it's okay" and sends you to work for another school, only do so if a Visa run is included because that's the only way it's legal.
I bet if you tried that with two hagwons, the government would just give you a big fat "no". Two public schools must be another matter, though... |

As of today...they must be included on your visa/ARC and agreed upon by the employer by sponsored your visa.
In September however...all that may change, and you may be able to work at multiple locations without that hassle. We'll just have to wait and see... |

You mean we'd actually be able to own our Visas? Could we quit without a release letter as well?
That'd be nice. Then resumes would be more important than simply existing.

What I mean is if my school doesn't care if I work at another place, can it only be a public school or can it be two seperate institutes as long as both agree and it is written on the visa. |

Sure but getting it written on the Visa might be hard. Immigration might just say "no", and in fact probably will. I think the only way they'd say yes is if you were working for two physical branches of the same employer (ex: a hagwon here and a hagwon there owned by the same company). |

You cannot work at two hogwons... I have no idea why. I've not heard before that a second place of employment requires a visa run and the name on your visa....
The name of the second institution has to be on the back of your ARC, placed there by Immigration only, not by your boss who says "it's OK."
Your visa sponsoring school has to agree in writing and you have to work less hours at the second job than at the sponsoring institution.
Again, I've never heard before anything about a visa run or having to get a new visa. I'm not saying that it's wrong, because Korean Immigration changes rules daily, but if it's true, it's a very new rule. |

| Incognito, Immigration routinely says yes to adding a second place of work as long as all the rules are followed... |

I'm not sure I understand:

So by second institution do you mean public school , not a hogwon? |

Let me tell my story:
About a year ago I worked in the afternoons at a public school, which was my visa sponsor. Later I got offered a part time job at a adult hagwon in the mornings.
I couldn't have the public school as my sponsor and add the hagwon as a secondary place of employment; the only way to do it was to cancel my visa, get a new visa with the hagwon as my primary sponsor, and add the public school as a secondary place of employment.
You might be wondering: why are E2s only allowed to add public schools and universities to our visas? I don't know but that seems to be the rule.
Another strange one: I once had a public school as my visa sponsor and got three part time jobs at other public schools. I wanted to do it legal, so I got permission letters from my sponsor and submitted all the documents. I was told that I can only add two employers to my primary workplace.
Still naive, I asked: why? The immigration official responded "Because that's immigration law." Not satisfied I further enquired "yes, but why is that the law?" His reply was an exasperated, incredulous "I don't know!" that was said in a tone that said 'how am I supposed to know?!' |
