|
|
My school has a two week summer camp and the head teacher asked us for ideas. Honestly I have never taught summer camp before so I don't have any ideas. I was thinking it would be fun to have a singing class simply because its fun and rarely do kids get to have fun in English. That said I think my school is more academically minded. Any ideas?
I would appreciate any help. |

There is a thread on the main page of EFL Classroom 2.0. Also, immediate downloads and thousands of other materials / games/ resources in the SHARE area and all the discussions also. Click and download.

PS. There was a previous thread on here last year that had some super content. IF anyone can find it and post, much appreciated. The search here sucks! I tried 30 min.... (and I was searching correctly...) |

The mes projects are exactly what I was looking for! Does anyone know of other projects we can do in the classroom (MS or HS students) or can recommend a project-based ESL/EFL book? |

| One more thing: Has anyone ever assigned a film project--Have the students write, produce, and star in their own movie? I'm toying with this idea but have never done it before and really wouldn't know where to start... |

We are making short clips - like on the Minsu CD. Same topics but I encourage the students to make them funny.
Then I add subtitles, music and clips from Youtube.
Like this, but not half as good:

A whole movie might be a bit too ambitious.
I want to try a music video:

I remember a couple of years ago at TESOL a French teacher had her students make mini-movies, each under 5 minutes. Come to think of it, she also had them make commercials.
Maybe I could show some commercials in class from YouTube and have them translate them and act them out for the class in English on one day, then the second day have them prepare their own commercials to perform for the camera. What do you think? |

Thanks for the old threads guys....do you save them? Great for reference and so helpful for teachers (thus, students)
PP, I love the video and it really shows some excellent teaching -- the final product of a teacher doing some wonderful stuff.
Projects? -- I have a nice country project on EFL Classroom 2.0 . I also highly recommend Andrew Finch's - It's Up to You. u2u . A project focused text for Korean learners. Here is the project pack http://www.finchpark.com/books/u2u/index.htm
Click the Project based learning ppt here to find what it is all about
