Tattoos in Asia generally are the mark of gangsters, thugs, and lowlifes.
I'm sorry if it doesn't fit the same standard as in America.
You are in Korea, deal with it. Does it suck they look down on tattoos? Yeah. But if you wanted peace and tranquility, why don't you just stay in your hometown and be around your friends?
Sounds like you are the whiny idiot.
What do you expect, everyone to have the same ideals and morals as Americans?
The only thing I find utterly disgusting is your attitude and expectations living in a foreign country. Americans.  |

No, no, it's the same standard in America. People with multiple tattoos who get in your face about them are thugs and lowlifes. |

People who get in your face about them are abrasive and belligerent, not necessarily thugs and lowlifes. And they don't have to have multiple tattoos to fit the description we're talking about. Although, most thugs or wannabe thugs I've met do have tattoos... |

Ive been in Korea for over 3 years and have a huge tattoo on my arm and shoulder. When I first came here I was told to never show anyone as I might lose my job. Not even!!
I havent had so mush as a single negative comment about my tattoo and in the summer i spend most of my time in t-shirts or singlets.
Koreans are getting more and more tattoos everday. Ive seen a lot of girls with them these days. Pretty hot actually.
I think as long as you dont have a tattoo of a skull and crossbones or some naked women youll be sweet as. |

On the skin? No. IN the skin. Gives me the creeps. 
Of course, if I met you in person I wouldn't gape at them in horror. Even if they were really big and grotesque which it sounds like they might be.
The guy that has had no problems with his tattoo and the guy that has both need to post some pics. |

| Sounds like the OP just needs some more refined coping mechanisms. I'm covered in tattoos also, have lived in Asia for over six years and in Korea for two, and have never been provoked to confrontation just because someone looked at me funny. If your first reaction is to get defensive or think that "This place needs a swift kick in the a$$ and it's gonna take someone like me to give them the boot instead of putting on a suit and being yet another tool in the shed", then you're in for a frustrating time. |
