It sucks, portions are too small and it's way too expensive, plus it resembles nothing like Mexican food at all. I'd rather eat fried food from the stall covered in bundagi.
Taco Chili Chili is good, still not real Mexican Food, but the owner lived in Mexico City for about 25 years I think. It's damn tasty. |

I tried Casa Loca in Yeouido today. I walked to there from around the 63 building area. As I finally spotted it, it looked closed cuz the lights were dim inside! Initially I thought it was closed and I was pissed! Then I walked up further and saw someone inside.
I ordered flautas (6,500) and a Chicken Fajita (9,800).
The chips were pretty good, but the salsa didn't really taste like real mexican salsa. it tasted like there was a hint of something korean in it, still decent though.
the flautas were pretty good and so was the chicken fajita. My only complaint was the tortilla was really thin, a bit different than I expected since they bragged they made their own tortillas or whatever.
Wasn't authentic, but more authentic than taco bell. I'm just happy I finally got to eat some sort of mexican food. |

Definitely gets my vote for the best Mexican joint in Korea. Sure, it's tex-mex, but c'mon...Patron Margaritas??? In-house chips and salsa? Huge portions? Yeah, I'm a gringo, but it caters to my tastes perfectly. |

Was there tonight. Must say, I was a little disappointed. Nothing to write home about. |

I went to Taco Amigo in Itaewon yesterday and was really impressed with their food. I got the chorizo burrito and it was really big and tasty, it even had cilatro. The burrito, sour cream and guacamole, and a water came out to 8500 won, so it was cheap too.
While I do love On the Border, it does cost more and the Mexican place sear Seohyeon is expensive crap, so I'm definitely heading back to Taco Amigo when I get the chance. |

There's a great Mexican restaurant near Daegu (in Gyeongsan) called La Cantina. It's in the neighbourhood behind Yeungnam University - Sampungdong. Get the taxi to drop you off at the entrance to the university Technopark, and then walk about 3 blocks to your right, and one block left. Yellow sign, kinda hidden now by a new building.
They make great plates: enchiladas, chilli, 3 kinds of nachos, burritos, tacos, fajitas and poutine (owned by a Canadian) but the prices are a bit steep. The owner and his wife make all the food themselves, and even get Mexican chili powder to get the flavour right. And they make great margs. |

I was surprised to see little mention of "On the Border" here. It is quite good with great variety located near Shinchon. See the link below for menu and directions...

I'm from Texas and pretty sure I won't be able to recreate or find Enchiladas the way they make them back home... |

Is there any good Mexican food in Korea?
If you haven't tried authentic Mexican food, please don't answer this question. By authentic, I mean made by Mexicans fresh from Mexico (and not incredibly altered for the local market) or authentic food prepared by Mexicans and consumed in Mexico.
Where could I find a descent margarita? |
