There IS! I've been told. And when I find out where it is, I'll post it. I'm told that Koreans can go there and shop. I want to make some Thanksgiving food and don't know where else I might be able to find marshmallows!

go to the USFK website, you'll find out there is no USFK base on Jeju the ones down south are in Daegu, and Chinhae near Pusan along with a small air base in Gwangju, what you are talking about are the numerous black market stores where goods smuggled off US bases are sold, they are everywhere |

get whoever 'told' you to 'tell' you where it is. but seriously Jeju is so tiny, if there was one you would know about it. how many US soldiers have you seen around?
You should try http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rhymeswithjeju/ its better than daves for all your jeju needs, though you would have got laughed at if you asked that question |

When I lived there, I was told that there was some sort of resort for soldiers on vacation, but not an actual base. I can't remember where it was though.
Good luck.

Last time I checked there's no US military installation in Jeju.
But who knows, they are moving our forces to the south away from the NK artillery range. |

It was called Camp Challenge
It was a major rear supply base during the war and the PLDC academy before it was moved to Camp Jackson in Uijongbu and it is now a resort for vacationing USFK personnel, I am not sure if civilians can go there, but you might want to ask the people at Apple Travel at the USO.
BTW~ I did see marshmellows at Lottemarts in Seoul Station and at Noryangjin and I saw a few bags at the blackmarket stores in Itaewon and at some of the outside markets around the bases. |

| There is a US MWR facility (hotel, some shopping) in or near Daejong, Jeju. |

There was a US base on Jeju-do called Camp McNab. As of this past summer, USFK transferred control of it to the ROK army. AFAIK, it's the same one as Diver is talking about. They had a Training Center at the Camp, where US soldiers from around the country would participate in what was called the 'Cheju-do Challenge'. Which is probably how some GIs may have also coined it the name 'Camp Challenge'. |

| Is there or isn't there a military base of sorts on the island? I'm moving there tomorrow and would like to know. My friend's dad is in the military and has a military pass, forgot what's it's called, that would allow him and a friend to get on base. That would be awesome. Please let me know! |

| It's called United States Uniformed Services Identification Card, aka DD Form 2. That's for the military member. For dependents and civil | |
