Anyone know where the US military base is on Jeju Island?

There IS! I've been told. And when I find out where it is, I'll post it. I'm told that Koreans can go there and shop. I want to make some Thanksgiving food and don't know where else I might be able to find marshmallows!

When I lived there, I was told that there was some sort of resort for soldiers on vacation, but not an actual base. I can't remember where it was though.

Last time I checked there's no US military installation in Jeju.

But who knows, they are moving our forces to the south away from the NK artillery range.

It was called Camp Challenge
It was a major rear supply base during the war and the PLDC academy before it was moved to Camp Jackson in Uijongbu and it is now a resort for vacationing USFK personnel, I am not sure if civilians can go there, but you might want to ask the people at Apple Travel at the USO.

BTW~ I did see marshmellows at Lottemarts in Seoul Station and at Noryangjin and I saw a few bags at the blackmarket stores in Itaewon and at some of the outside markets around the bases.

There is a US MWR facility (hotel, some shopping) in or near Daejong, Jeju.

Is there or isn't there a military base of sorts on the island? I'm moving there tomorrow and would like to know. My friend's dad is in the military and has a military pass, forgot what's it's called, that would allow him and a friend to get on base. That would be awesome. Please let me know!

It's called United States Uniformed Services Identification Card, aka DD Form 2. That's for the military member. For dependents and civilian SOFA personnel, it's the DD Form 1173, Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege Card.

The friend's card (that is, if it's the friend who had the DD1173) just might no longer be valid, regardless of the expiration date on the card.

There used to be a big airbase called Fort Cantwell on Jeju Island.
