Maybe or probably
Quayle was probably smarter than many people thought.Going on there is nothing o show that Mr. Obama is super brillant compared with other candidates for president - this year or in other years.
If the economic crisis had come about six months from now , instead of now McCain would have had a good shot at becoming president. Bad luck for McCain.
Anyway I see two good things at Obama becoming president. If he turns out not to be a liberal then all the liberals will be disappointed ( that isn't a bad thing. ) and if he turns out to be a liberal then he will be out of office in 48 months because the most conservative democratic voters will turn against him. If Obama doesn't do things the Bill Clinton way then he will be a one term president. See what happened to Jimmy Carter. |

Harvard astronomer Tim Spahr said the asteroid was so small it wouldn't reach the ground before burning up and wouldn't hurt anyone, but the fireball should be seen heading from west to east.
"It's the first time we've been able to predict an impactor in advance and it'll be quite a celestial show for the world," said Donald Yeomans, manager of NASA's Near Earth Object program, which tracks asteroids and comets that come close.
There are 5,681 such objects, but only 757 of them are large enough to cause any damage if they hit Earth.... |

Seriously, we do need to track asteroids. Asteroids can be dangerous. So Quayle's work paid off.
But where there's one asteroid, there can be more.
There's only one disaster left that has not afflicted the U.S. and world during the Bush administration, an asteroid impact. What do you think the odds are? And where would you like it to hit? I'm rooting for Crawford, TX. |
