Any word on when the won is suppose to go back up? This is ridiculous! I am hoping that one of you may have heard some economist ranting or something like that.....

My prediction: the won will go back to about 1,200, or 1,100 at best, by the end of 2009.

This is purely speculative, though. Ie., pulled out of my ***.

My guess is it will take about 6 to 8 months for the current mess to blow over.

I read on Bloomberg ealrier this week that the won may hit 1400 per dollar within six months. It now looks like that might happen by the end of the day. Apparently, it did for a moment.

I just don't expect it to get better any time soon. I really wouldn't be surprised if it was 1500 by the end of the year.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's 1500 by the end of the month. Hopefully things improve back to 1000 won to the dollar by Spring. When that happens, sell sell sell by chin of your shinny chin chin. Just sit on it for now and hope for the best. A brighter way to look at is you have some money in the bank, you're not broke(yet), a place to live, and you still have a job.

I'm adamant a window of opportunity will occur to sell at 1000.

me too. I think 1000 is well within the realms of possibility in the next year. if you buy at 1500, adn sell at 1000, that's 50% (right?) and a very good return.

Heck, if it dumped to 1500 or worse in the next week, I'd probably be sending about $30,000 US here pronto.

That's do really nice once the won came back to around 1150 or so.

The thing that confuses me is that someone said the bank would wait 10 days to get the best rate for them? If it then shot back to 1150 in less than 10 days, would they take money back from me??
