From a practical point of view, it is highly unlikely he will be prosecuted for war crimes.

Perhaps not, but renowned Attorney Vincent Bugliosi has vowed to seek The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder under U.S. law and makes a damn good case for it in the outline of the case which is his book.

He wants to sell a book.

Courts want evidence. What is your evidence that (a) W. Bush issued "the orders"; and that (b) those orders included "kill civilians?"

Gopher - you don't need a "smokin gun" or George on tape saying, "kill them bastards". You only need to show that he knowingly took actions which were illegal and would certain lead to civilian deaths. There is LOTS of evidence of this, way beyond that big pile to do with the prefabricated war.... Get informed.

LOL! Yeah, with who? what fantasy land do you live in? This is only a war by order of the propaganda machine of the Oval Office.

If you defend any actions of the Bush administration -- you are defending the terrorists that took down the towers. It is the same thing. Attacking, strong takes the weak, we form what is just.........in a word - delusional. Just as those idiots killed thousands of Americans, America has done the same, purely, just got revenge - nothing civilized about it. Call it what it is. If America wants to return to the "decent" world -- they will have to clean house and throw out the dirt and piss.

Oh yeah, about the rambling. Sorry, I don't think in straight lines. That's so old century....

Blowback referred to what a stupid thing it is to cross international borders, kill civilians and then expect that hundreds of decent, normal Americans not around the trough like George W. will not have to pay.

It does ramble. My only response is that I disagree with you; America is not the villain; and as far as "the rest of the world" goes, "decent" is not the first adjective that comes to mind.

Also...

C. Johnson hijacked "blowback," CIA's term of art for black propaganda or false press reports that friendly press outlets unknowingly repeat in his bestselling "trilogy" books years ago. Not a few people follow his inaccurate definition that "blowback" was CIA's term for antiAmerican responses to American-sponsored covert operations abroad. Now you seem to have improvised an entirely new definition. Slippery term, I guess. In fact, I guess post-C. Johnson it just means "bad America."

Then gather your forces, Ddeubel, and strike the United States. The Syrian govt may also do this at will.

If the Syrians have the stones for that, then let 'em have at it. Won't last long.

I guess nobody wants to talk about the air strike anymore, but here's an interesting article assessing it.

As always, you flash your true colors eventually, once you crawl up enough from your hole for the light of day to shine....

It isn't about "might = right". Right = right. And there is no right in what the U.S. of A. has done in terms of transgressing international borders, kidnapping, torturing, bombing and killing civilians.

This action, like so many others, just continues violence and death. It will flame asymmetrical warfare and innocents will get caught in the bravado of your crosshairs. No leadership at all -- this "we got a bigger stick than you."

Keep on goosestepping Gopher, because despite all your fanciful thoughts of patriotism, allegiance, fighting brothers -- it is just that. Allegiance to a wrong, violent cause.

This is one of the reasons why the Iraqi government will not sign the new SOFA deal with the US. Iraq doesn't want to be used as a launching pad for invasions into other countries.

The world would be a better place without the Baathist last enclave.
