Exactly, Kuros. His other "satire," "Rush Limbaugh Is a Big Fat Idiot," does the same, no? I think C. Chase has recently shed some light on Saturday Night Live and its writers' politics and conscious and deliberate use of "satire" to articulate them and influence public opinion.
So we apparently disagree here. I do not want this invective-spitting, mocking baboon who knows nothing else walking the Senate's halls. I am glad he has lost this bid.
Do you mean to express your acceptance of him as a serious politician? If so, what comes next? Sean Penn for SecState...? |

Satire to influence public opinion? Gasp! What will they think of next?

Have you looked at where he stands on the issues? Maybe you don't agree with his stance, but he's far from a "know nothing" "baboon."

Yeah, because entertainers have never had much success in politics. |

Huffdaddy: get my position right: I never called him "a know-nothing baboon." I called him "an invective-spitting, mocking baboon who knows nothing else [than invective-spitting and mocking, based on his publications and performance on television]."
In any case, looks to me as if he lost the race by approximately two-hundred votes. Close, but still a loss. And that would make him a defeated and now unemployed invective-spitting, mocking baboon who knows nothing else... |

And Arnold Schwarzenegger is a cyborg from the future. |

| Who are you arguing against? Do you take me as one of the gubernator's supporters? Or J. Ventura's, for that matter? Speaking of Ventura, what a strange state Minn. is. |

Negative. No confusion. You are trying too hard to distance A. Franken from his books -- which do not represent "entertainment" but rather "junk," just like A. Coulter and the others who contribute to it from the other side.
I do not want these people in public office. Leave them in the mostly shallow and sensationalist print media and television, where I may simply ignore them, as I mostly do. Bar them from my govt, however. They do not belong there. |

Have you read any of his books?

How, um, democratic of you. Have you actually followed any of his political career, as opposed to his comedic and infotainment work? |

No, you do not get to put me on the stand, Huffdaddy. Try again.
I have stated my views. Take them or leave them. And barring unforeseen developments in Minn., A. Franken still stands defeated and is out. |

Huffdaddy snidely remarked:

Uh, gee, no I wasn't. I had in mind Shelly's character. Franken is a liberal media lab experiment. But do carry on in your search for red herrings to counter my points.

Gee, Daddy, thanks for the demographic low-down.
Most of the socks in my drawer have holes in them, as in censored.

Yeah, sure he is. Hey, I thought Kool-Aid was only for the kids, Daddy. |

I'll take that as a no.
I, for one, don't believe the politics is solely the domain of career politicians who have lived a calculated life to protect their image. Skewering someone for your perceptions of his previous career seems rather elitist to me. In other words, nothing less than what I'd expect from you.
But then again, you're not from Minnesota. So you're opinion is largely irrelevant in the matter at hand. |

Yes, that's my current voting home. |

Why is Sean Penn for SecState any more ridiculous than Ronnie Reagan for President? Or Arnie for governer of a state that has the same population as Australia? Penn is a better actor than either of these guys put together. Perhaps he'd make a better leader too. |

You sound like one of those 'Western Elitists,' mate. Who decided that entertainers are not supposed to have a political side? |
