In response to another poll, this poll is directed specifically at foreign teachers who have a sanctimonious attitude regarding other E2 visa holders who are illegally tutoring Koreans in English.
It's well understood that teaching privates on an E2 visa is illegal and that if you do it you should be ready to accept the consequences.
I'm just wondering how serious you are in your disapproval and condemnation of those who are doing it.
So: if you had an acquaintance who was teaching privates, perhaps a friend of a friend, would you attempt to assist the Ministry of Justice in the apprehension of this individual? If not, why not? |

| If you get the people to respond you asked to respond, then your results should be pretty well skewed towards the hostile side. Basically, you're asking anyone with a sanctimonious attitude towards E2 visa holders that are illegally teaching to respond as to whether or not they would report them. |

For the record I'm on an F-2. And also for the record the day I would report anyone in any country for tutoring, is the same day I would top myself off!!...preferably with a protractor in the brain and a number 2 pencil in the throat.
It'd be technically illegal in the West too you know!...under the tax man's table and all.
If one started reporting westerners for tutoring, why not koreans and others as well? Descipicable behavior in any way shape or form. Save your reports for crimes that harm others directly!

| I would never 'rat' on anyone. However, when they are caught, I will laugh at them on the way to the airport. |

Why not rat on them? I'm also interested in the rationale for negative responses. |

Because back in my home country I was a 'fish cop'... and there's nothing lower on the face of the planet than a 'rat'. If someone ratted to me on a friend/aquaintance, I'd find a reason to 'bust' that person for something as well.

| No, but if they got caught, I'd have very little sympathy for them. I'm sure there are plenty of Koreans out there that would salivate at the chance to turn a foreigner in. |

I think it's perfectly acceptable for the govt to enforce their laws against tutoring, including jailing/deportation/fines.
I also think that's their problem, not mine.
I don't think it really hurts anyone (besides the govt's taxes), so I wouldn't report it. If the teacher wants to try their luck and do privates, it's not my problem, or obligation to report it |

One day, back in year two at primary school, I copied my homework off another kid. This other kid found out, but decided not to 'rat' on me.
Since then, I've known that if I were to 'rat' on anyone, it would only increase the guilt on my part.
Well okay I'm making stuff up, but you get the idea. I've done things I'm not proud of, and not been ratted on, so I return the favour... |
