North Korea has notified international agencies of its plan to launch its Gwangmyeongseong-2 satellite between April 4-8, Seoul officials said yesterday.
The two launch coordinates named by the North are in the East Sea and in the Pacific, they said.

Unification Minister Hyun In-taek said yesterday he viewed what North Korea claims to be a satellite launch as a missile test.
"Though there is no hard evidence to prove it, circumstantial evidence, including situations in the North, has led me to judge (that it is a missile test),"
ALSO
The North cut off military communication lines with the South on Monday, severing all channels of dialogue with the South and blocking roads between the two Koreas.

If the Norks tell the world it's a satellite but turns out to be a missile test launch with an ocean splashdown, they'll incur sanctions. They know this. If it turns out to be a missile launch with a real-world target, they're inviting war. They know this, too.

Last time they launched a test missile, they used the same excuse. That was no satellite.... |

Let's hope they're not going to send anything bad our way. Someone needs to just go up there and kick their butts and put that regime out of commission. |

It's actually shameful it wasn't done a long time ago. Millions of people have starved to death. Millions more are impoverished.
Kim Jong Il, I believe, is playing a dangerous game of chicken. He either will get cash, oil or food OR he'll get a war. He problably doesn't care either way. The closer he gets to dying, the more dangerous he becomes. Nothing to lose. Leave this planet with a blaze of glory. |
