Hi everybody,
I've only been in Korea for a week, but was wondering how to meet Korean girls (they are so beautiful!) and guys (for friends). I keep getting funny looks on the street, and keep thinking "wow, i wish I could just talk to them."
So are Koreans friendly to Americans in bars, etc? How do you go about meeting new people outside of the school network? |

when they give you the foreigner stare, just make eye contact, hold a hand up in the air and yell "HIGH FIVE-UH!" They will be very impressed with your knowledge of Korean culture, and you will be irresistible to Korean women. You will make friends everywhere you go with this one, trust me.

I'm 23. I'm just still in the culture shock phase and would love to meet locals.
I know nothing about how to meet new people in Korea. I guess Soju will help?
I'll try the high five thing, thanks |

Agreed
Hey stallion take it easy. Relax... Get acquainted with your environment (observe, learn, evaluate your strengths and weaknesses in comparison to the norm) and politely introduce your game plan. As far as a time scale, its up to the individual. (1 week to 3 years). Keep us posted.

You've been here a week. How about taking a deep breath, counting to ten and stop being so anxious. Those things will come in due time. A wise man once said about Korean girls "It's not a matter of if, but a matter of when." Seriously, you need to just let things come naturally. |

100% agree with that. It's not dificult to meet girls here. Meeting nice ones is more difficult. Just have fun and stay lighthearted. |

Lonely Ass cannot make a sentence properly when she is mocking esl teachers; if it wasn't funny, it would be sad. |

er...
Go to a Korean English Church. You can meet lots of Koreans who want free English lessons.
I attended a church for a while, The foreigners were encouraged and told...we were to speak with the Koreans, not hang out by ourselves. |

Wouldn't it be "HIGH PIE-BUH?" But thanks for that tidbit. When I arrive in Korea as soon as I step off the plane I am going to do that! |

no, you will be shocked and numbed by your external world becoming an internal reality. |

Join a Tawkwando/hapkido/muaythai/boxing etc. club. One with adults, not just kids. You'll probably be surround by guys, but they'll have sisters and female friends they can introduce you to.
Or get one of your Korean coworkers to hook you up with a hiking club or something. That'll probably have a few interesting people in it. |

I was trying to make a joke, but I don't understand your response. Can you clarify please? The reason I said "PIE-BUH" is because Koreans don't have "F" or "V" sounds in their alphabet (I thought). Hopefully I didn't offend you, my bad. |
