Why? Was the electronic device a dung pile? Just a bad day in general? A possible combination of both? |

BRAVO
But don't tell the locals, they wouldn't understand, and think anyone without one is wangta or weird.
By the way koveras, how is that book of poetry coming along? You gotta write one about this experience. |

I was out for a stroll, fiddling with the phone in my pocket. It felt kind of heavy. The idea came to me that I should get rid of it. The idea wouldn't leave me alone. It grew and grew until it took over my whole mind, and I felt I would go mad if I didn't do something about it. So I threw my phone into a river. It felt good.

Thanks, and I'll just tell people I misplaced it. It's news to me that I'm writing a book of poetry, so I guess, to answer your question, I have to admit that it's not going very well at all. |

you wrote a post saying you want to write a book of poems last fall
your post is still there, go back and look at it, on one of the first couple of pages of your posts, just click on your username and go back and look
maybe you were just drunk or tired or full of *beep* |

The nearest thing I found was something I said to Cornfed when hesaid he wanted to write a book of poetry. I did say, on a much more recent thread, that I want to be an author. Whether or not I was ever planning to write such a book, I haven't. Anyway, how's life without a cell phone? What can I look forward to, besides girls giving me strange, mistrustful looks when I tell them? |

Koveras, you and I would get along great. I hate cell phones.
I'm going on a mini-tour around Korea soon, and I will NOT be bringing my phone. How unfettered I will be.
What is it about us? We need to escape society?
That's cute your question about 'funny looks from girls'. I guess you'll have to find the right girl hey chappy...If I met a man who ceremoniously chucked his phone into the river, and his eyes were kind, I might fall in love. |

Another foreign teacher stole my cellphone four years ago: no way to prove anything unfortunately...
Anyways, since then I have never gotten a new one: almost never need it.
I tell people, "If I am at home, call me on my home telephone. If I am not at home, then I must be busy."
This makes it easy to avoid awkward conversations, too.
Now if a cellphone would help me find new players for our Dungeons and Dragons game ... |

I threw my phone in a river,
for it would not make my girlfriend come hither.
Thanks to that phone,
there was no use for my bone,
and my love I was unable to give 'er. |

Hope you enjoy life without it. I've been here over ten years and have never owned a cell phone. If I feel I might need one when I go out, I bring my wife's. I use it maybe 7 or 8 times a year. |

I tossed my ex girlfriend in the river! How's that for One-upmanship!
No, I didn't really. She'd be more likely to throw me in the river! |
