I had an E-2 for a number of years.

I'm currently on a D4-4 studying Korean fulltime.

I'm thinking about ditching my last week of classes in order to do a two week camp instead. Will I have to take a trip over to japan?

Are you sure you want to do that? The tax rate on a C-4 is between 21%-26% (that's the 90day visa that lumps camp teachers in with entertainers and professionals visiting Korea on business)

Yes to Japan. You need all of the same bs as with an E2 it's just a shorter stay. As for the tax rate, the camp I worked didn't charge me any tax when I was on a C4. Something to ask the camp about. A C4 is good for 90 days but the embassy will only grant the amount of time the camp runs, with a little elbow room. My camp was thirty days so they gave me 45.
