| No "In Bruges" What a travesty. Or "The Wrestler". Quite a populist list. The Devil Wears Prada? Good as far as chick flicks go but hardly a great movie. None from '09, either. |

| City of God is on there, it's #66. I've seen about 60 of those, with a couple more in the To Be Watched file. Lots of great movies on there, but most of the ones in the top ten are the ones I liked least. I'd put the Hurt Locker a lot higher than 72, and I'd consider Crash a waste of film. |

Ahh, cagg damn it. I need to get my eyes tested.
There should be a heap of best of lists coming out over the course of the next 6 weeks. I'm looking forward to the AV Club and Pitchfork ones.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Wrestler doesn't appear to be there. Slumdog Millionaire is way too high. And where's Big Momma's House 2? |

It's been a weak decade for great Hollywood blockbusters, as many high budget films were just-okay and many lower budget and international ones far better.
As for Gladiator and Being John Malkovich... they seem soooo 90s despite premiering in 2000.
Of those I've seen, here are the top baker's dozen from that list that I'd most recommend  :

quick count and I would say I have seen around 65 movies on the list. There were a lot of movies that I thought were much older

Mate you have to give donnie darko ago loved that one (but it is an odd one)
Children of men and there will be blood were both great movies and I disagree that they shouldn't be on the list.
Children of men has a replayable quality about it, while there will be blood is a beautiful movie (not the right word but can't think of the word I'm looking for) |

I LIKED Children of Men very much. But I didn't think it was a top-10 film of the year let alone top-100 of the decade. I DID NOT like There will be Blood, ugh, overacting Daniel Day Lewis slaughter movie was tiring and boring for stretches, seemed over the top, comic book like but trying not to be. But I thought the Bourne movies were so-so rehashes with moments of original chase sequences, and a marginal choice on a best-of list. CRANK was twice the chase film in terms of originality in filmmaking and entertainment value. |
