Percentage of failures after 3 years:

2. Gateway 23.5%

For all of Apple's toted reliability they're pretty low on the list.

Not surprised to see HP top of the list, but didn't expect Lenevo to be so close behind.

I'm actually shocked to see Sony so low... I guess their bad rep comes from the terrible service if and when something does go wrong? Or perhaps they've improved.

I think HP would have faired better, however they ran into a real mess thanks to a flawed NVIDIA chipset design they bought into rather heavily last year. Other manufacturers had some difficulties with the same chipset, but nothing like HP suffered.

I'm a MicroExpress man myself. Having run into troubles with Dell and HP, ME has been flawless.

I have had very good exprience with Toshiba, but like a previous poster , I upgrade every year. I did keep a 2003 model until this year & was running strong when I sold it.
