Fulham are awesome.
I wonder if Roy Hodgson will be fancied for the Liverpool job? |

Doubt it.
He's undoubtedly done a cracking job at Fulham but they'll go for another high-profile boss who has little understanding of the transfer market/the EPL. |

Sacking Rafa would be a travesty. Liverpool aren't that big of a club. Two Champions League medals ain't bad. He has done well with the resources he was given. Considering the members of the board are all nut jobs at Anfield.
Hopefully they ground share with Everton and build a 120,000 seat Goodison/Anfield 2.
Gotta feel sorry for Sparky. Man City will never be top 4 if they act rashly like this. |

You think? He's had ample resources. He's spent millions on players that simply aren't of the quality for a top 4 side (Kyrgiakos, anyone? I'm a Rangers fan and I couldn't believe that a player that wasn't really of the standard to play in the SPL was signing for Liverpool). Liverpool are a big enough club that they should be challenging for the league year in year out. Besides last season, they haven't really been close enough during his tenure. This season has been unbelievable for them in Europe. The only time I've seen such gutless displays in Europe by a British team was any one of the last few seasons competitors from Scotland.
Never happen. There's too much rivalry between them for this to work properly.
I think it's farcical that City sacked Hughes. He was on target for the position in the league that was agreed with the chairman before the start of the season. He was still in with a shot of winning at least one trophy. There's no way that Mancini will come in and do a better job. City are at least a couple of seasons away from challenging. When Abramovich came in to Chelsea, there were at least 3 or 4 players there at the club that provided (and still do) the back bone of the team. Hughes didn't have that luxury. He's a good manager. He's proved that with Wales, at Blackburn, and he did do a decent job at City. I've no doubt he won't be out of the game for long. |

I'm trying to find the figures, but I'm 90% sure Liverpool have one of the lower budgets over the past 5 years. Rafa buys mostly cheap 6/10 players and tries to turn them into 8/10 players. He succeeded with Kuyt, Benayoun, Mascherano, Riera. There have been plenty of failures using this strategy, though. He made a profit on Sissoko. I will admit there is a lot of dross in the squad and basically no depth beyond the first team.

Would be cool if they did, though. It works well in Milan.

Stupidest thing I've read in a while.
Gotta love footy discussions with people who have no idea what they're on about. |
