Thanks to everyone for all the information in the previous post on Gwangju City. It looks like this will be a go after all. I'm a real fan of the beach (I live on one now) and warm weather, which is why I was so hyped about Busan. But I guess I'll just have to learn to deal with the cold and the snow ...

That said, important question: Does anyone know if there is a competent luthier / instrument repair person in Gwangju? I have an expensive guitar that needs a touch of work but, as it's about to make a long trip, I might wait to get it done there.

Also, to Loza - Thanks for your sage advice, particularly regarding housing. I'd like to ask you a couple of questions, but can't PM you, as I'm a newbie. Are you on the Gwangju FB page? (I tried sifting through, but there's over 500 members). Or maybe you could PM me.

Thanks again, everyone.

There are a bunch of music shops around Art Street in downtown. You could definitely find an experienced person at any of those shops to help you out.

Yeah that's true, try Art Street, especially if it's a high end instrument.
