| To the best of my knowledge, the "splinter groups" don't call themselves Mormons. And, just a point of info, the Associated Press tells its reporters to reserve the term Mormon for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. |

About a hundred years ago the mainstream Mormon Church changed its dogma to conform to the new anti-polygamy laws, while the splinter groups went underground and continued the practice.
Nice how God can change his word to conform to legal fashions. I guess He can do anything after all  |

The fact that religions the world over have changed over times to conform to social norms and expectations is exactly why it's so confusing that people can actually possess a literalist belief in religion. |
