-We will teach you to get join (whhhaaaa?)
-We called the landrover (who did you call?)
-We chose you to dance because you are pretty and very slim (maybe..but I can't dance. and i really don't want in front of the entire school and parents)

My boss 'You shouldn''t get hair shorter because I risk you being too handsome, all the girls will run you down'

This is more embarrassing than it is funny, really, since she said it in front of the rest of the staff.

I find the kids mistakes funnier. 'I went to jeju and I ride a *beep*'

Gotta love "English teachers" laughing at someone speaking a second language.

Grow up.

Ride a what?

What does it rhyme with? Do they mean "ride a truck"?

Oh I actually said horse without the S, but it's been edited.

As for the grow up guy - I, as I'm sure others do, make fun of people going wrong in their first language too. Just like how people make fun of people falling over. If growing up means not finding anything amusing, then I never want to grow up *flies to neverland*

My students crack up when I speak Korean, when actually, I'm trying to help them. The think my accent is funny. If one is particularly loud about it, I point and say "Okay. What did I say in English?"

The mid-to-high-level students can say it but I make the rude one speak in English, and they usually mess it up. Then I say "I laugh? Haha? No. You are a student. I'm not laughing. You try. I try Korean. Funny? Haha? No. Do you like big homework?"

The child gets my point and never laughs when I throw in a Korean word or phrase again. If they do, they get "big homework."

Grumpy Senator, your name, at least the grumpy part, suits you well.

First of all, laughing at funny mistakes people make when speaking a language is part of the learning process and completely normal. When I was in France (I speak French) I said, "J'aime ca beaucoup" which means I like that very much, except I pronounced the end of beaucoup slightly wrong making it so that I said "I like that beautiful ass" instead. My French friends laughed really hard at me, and I laughed too and blushed. And I've never pronounced it wrong since.

Grow up? Why don't you grow a sense of humor? What's the use in "growing up"?And what's more, Koreans make fun or laugh at me every time I ever even attempt Korean. I probably pronounce things funny. We're not making fun of these people in mean spirit whatsoever. It's a natural to find humor in life. You should try it.

But I'm sure you're an amazingly fun guy to hang out with. The life of the party.

Not that it makes it right, but Koreans laugh at us simply for speaking their language. you don't even have to be making a hilarious mistake. They will laugh simply because you are speaking Korean. That is much worse than laughing at stuff that is genuinely funny, even if a little mean.

Ahh it's all in good fun!! It's totally part of the learning process. It happens all over the world where different languages are spoken. A lot of the time the person will laugh with you if you tell them the meaning of what they said.
