| I never "got" that "stuff white people like" crap. A lot of it is universal stuff (Conan O'Brien? hell, I hate the guy, but people across the country seem to like him). I guess the next time I see an Asian guy who says he likes Conan O'brien I can accuse him of trying to be white. |

Some of them are way off but others I found to be dead on for me. The one about New Balance shoes hit real close to home. I had 6 or 7 white people over to my apartment for tacos one night and we were reading that. It mentions parties where you will find nothing but New Balance shoes piled up at the front door. Sure enough, 6 out of 7 of us had New Balances. So, when he is right, he is right. |

Doesn't really sound white. Sounds like someone who comes from a wealthy family and can afford to quit working for a year. |

If you read the whole post, it says that some make their year easier by teaching ESL. |

So you agree with Korean hagwon owners: teaching ESL IS for white people.
Except many of us have done it for more than one year. And teaching ESL isn't exactly "taking a year off" in a lot of cases. It can be just as hard/stressful as some white-collar, "white man" job that apparently minorities covet (judging from the final sentences of that post).
That's kind of my point though. The site is inflammatory and I am surprised it is not flamed more. I think the runners of that site are basically thekindofpretentiousminoritiesidontlike.com |

The site was created by a white Canadian making fun of other liberal, middle/upper class white people from N. America. Although his Asian-Canadian friend gave him some inspiration, he's also the sole author of the book.
Buuut...don't let that keep you from disliking pretentious minorities. |
