These are the prices in the store, not some G-market BS link where the prices are all out of wack anyway.

Brand new and still in its pretty box at any Lotte Mart near you.
Go out and buy a new TV, larger, newer, and better than almost anyone is selling online.
Don�t listen to the creeps who just want to pass on the fact they got terribly ripped off in Yongsan, or whatever electronics store they went to.

actually I'm not sure that these TVs are 1080, 720 maybe, which I guess is good enough for most.

You're right though, there are some great TV deals on since the launch of the new LED TVs.

The little card said 1080p, so unless the clerk mixed up the numbers, that�s what you get. I didn�t bother to write down the model numbers, but perhaps I should have.

I watch stuff on my 42" in 1080p and I can tell the dif between that and 720p

pdp? Plasma? Do they still have burn out issues?

Those tvs are only 1024x768 resolution IE 720p, but so are any other plasmas being sold on here. A full definition 1920x1080 plasma, of the same size, is going to be much more expensive than the ones you listed. While a full definition LCD will only be slightly more expensive, probably around 1.2-1.4 million depending on where you buy it etc.

I recently sold a very good 720p quality plasma on these boards, and upgraded to a full definition LCD, and let me say that the picture difference is significant. Keep in mind though, that in order to notice any difference you have to have native 1080p source material. If I play a PS3 game like Little Big Planet which doesn't support 1080p the difference is pretty small, but if I play God of War 3 or Final Fantasy 13 the difference is pretty impressive.

Just thought I would help clear things up. I didn't really understand much about this until I did some research recently.

Wow! Just noticed that according to the op, these screens are both 42 feet large. I'm sure that will make a big difference in your resolution debate. That is a better deal than anyone has posted on Daves!

I just bought a 42" PDP HDTV about a month ago. I actually got it from GMarket instead of the electronics market or any other mart. I only paid about 650K or 700K for it. With delivery. I understand and agree with the OP. I would rather buy from a foreign teacher just to help them get some of their investment back but there is no way that they can expect someone to pay a million or more for the same TV that we can buy for almost half that, brand new with (nearly) free delivery.

I understand that the sellers probably paid a lot of money for their TVs but the unfortunate (for them) truth is just that the prices of TVs have really come down. They have to eat the price. No one should pay a million or even 700K for a used 42" HDTV. Sorry guys.
