Just received word from the recruiter that we've been accepted and the NOA is enroute.

Can someone please let me know what the process once we have the contract & NOA in hand? How long does the process of receiving the actual visa take?

Trying to figure out timing for notifying my employer about my upcoming departure.

Thanks!

The visa process in the UK is supposed to take about 5 working days - minus time in transit through the post. I'm not sure if it's the same in other countries though.

same for Toronto

UP TO 5 working days, meaning it could also be less than 5 days.

I drove to the Consulate after receiving my NOA. Three days later I received my passport back with an E-2 Visa.

Really simple. Congratulations on your new job, do you know where your placement is? Will you be attending training in Seoul before you begin?

Thanks Donkey Beer!

Would you suggest driving to the consulate and dropping it off? Or just mailing the documents in?

To answer your questions, I've been confirmed for Seoul. I believe the orientation will be in Seoul on or around Aug 17 - if the information I've read is to be believed.

It really depends on how soon you need it. I don't like having my passport in the mail and the consulate was only an hour away, so I drove.

I thought only SMOE had placements in Seoul. I think you'll just have an orientation in Seoul before being relocated to another part of the country, any idea where?

Good luck at your new workplace!
