In terms of yearly Teaching Hours for high school, the States is top with around 1000 and Korea is near the bottom with around 500.

I suppose the next logical question is how comparable are the teaching years in terms of days of school?

Don't know about the states but Korea has 214 instruction days and BC province in Canada was at 184 when I was last there.

Maybe Korean educations is really more efficient.

Don't forget in Korean maybe 10% or more are 'event' days. Plus throw in those test days.
