I just wanted to heads up anyone who likes Moroccan/North African/Middle Eastern food. This place is fantastic. Great service, GREAT food, very authentic. Nice and cozy. There is a BUFFET on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. A Buffet of lamb. Yes, you read that right - all you can eat lamb and a million other things. Hookahs, too.
They have a website with the phone number and the address. It's in Itaewon, but my knowledge of that area is shady so I can't really point you in the right direction very well. It was across the street from Ip Hotel, I think.

The buffets are only fit for those with largely indiscriminate tasebuds.
For those able to tell culinary art from mere substenance that seems good to them because it's foriegn and you can eat as much as you want - you must order off of the menus.
The lemon chicken is a delight.
They will always, when it's busy, try to bully you into getting the buffet and they will insist that the buffet food and the menu are 'same same.'
It is not the same by any stretch and they are merely trying ot use up all the buffet food and not spend the time and fresh ingredients cooking you a dish off of the menu.
Sometimes the buffet will contain a menu dish. They will say 'why order off the menu whne you can have the buffet with the same dish and so much more?!
Trust me the menu dish and the same off the buffet will be of very different standard.
Stick to your guns and insist on a menu dish.
Your tastebuds will thank me if the force is strong in you. |

Haha, indiscriminate tastebuds I do have. I was there with my lady, though, who lived in Morocco for some time and she thoroughly enjoyed the buffet offerings. If it's better straight off the menu, I'm all for it!
Also, mint tea. Hadn't had some in quite a while - was very nice. |

A few weeks ago I went to their former location on the west end of Itaewon, only to find they'd closed down. I was very disappointed.
I'm now happy to hear that they've merely relocated. I wish they had placed some information on their window though, or if they did it was very small ! I only found out from you dear fellow. Thanks. |

| Went there once and they did push us into getting the buffet, and then complained about not being given notice we were coming (a table of about 7). All very meh. Haven't been back since. Might try getting their real food some time. |

I'm one of the most cynical hard to please eaters on these boards no doubt.
Their Lemon chicken, Tajines, Meatballs, all of their other main dishes are all very, very good and well worth the visit. Very unique, filling, good value and you won't taste food like it elswhere in Itaewon.
Their yougurt drink (lassi) is awful, don't bother. It's literally just some cheap yogurt in a glass, nothing else. Rices are pretty good and so are the breads. Salads seem only okay.
I go once in every 6 visits to the Twan or so and I'd put it almost up there with Salam as one of Itaewans better, affordable, ethnic restaurants. One of th eones where the cuisine is being cooked by natives of that country who realy know how to cook the food and seem to care about it (when they cook the menu dishes.)
Re the buffet - I should add I don't have anything agaisnt buffets and regualry eat buffets at the Royal Taj, The Moghul and a few other places. Just their buffet is very lacking usually but not always, maybe its good 2 out of ten times. |

I hate to give negative reviews but the one time I went there it was OK at best. I did order the buffet so that might have been my problem.
Another thing I didn't like was that the owners kids (i'm assuming they were his kids) were running all over the place yelling and screaming. He was trying to get them to calm down but they were just bored kids causing trouble for their dad.
I might give the new place a shot as long as they find a baby sitter.  |

| Lassi is supposed to be terrible. It's curdled milk. Its one of those things I never could acquire a taste of when I liked in al-Maghrib. I'll definitely stop by there the next time I'm in Seoul. What were the prices like? |

My point is their lassi is a terrible example of a lassi!
Prices are good.
A lemon chicken tajine with a gorgeous sauce, plenty of chicken, potatoe and other ingredients (they do not skimp on the goods) is 13,000 Won last time I had it I believe.
They do a nice lamb tajine dish with cinimon and egg (sonds awful, tastes great) and I think that too is around 13 - 15...
The tajine style meals yeah are between 13 - 17.
Can't remember if they charge added vat or not. |
