Every time I watch CSI and they are investigating a crime scene using only their flashlights, I feel like yelling at them to turn on the freakin' lights for once!
There was an episode of Monk once that parodied the ridiculousness of CSI type shows. Not that Monk is particularly intelligent or uncontrived. |

Speaking of MASH, I downloaded the entire series. I've done that with all the old shows I like. Green Acres, Beverly Hillbillies, All in the Family, The complete Star Trek Series, etc... I usually watch them for an hour or so before bed. Better than watching the garbage that passes for programming on TV today.
Shows like CSI and that fishing boat show on Discovery are like watching the same episode over and over! |

Look at what TV has degenerated into today. Even popular shows like Friends was mostly about sex, stabbing/attacking someone and getting ahead any way you could. The comedies from decades ago were funnier and lighthearted. Sure, the Beverly Hillbillies was about some hicks in CA, but no one got hurt and it was genuinely funny. Ever see the episode where Granny hunts a kangaroo thinking it was a giant jackrabbit?!? |

what's more scary is that now these girls and Snookie are considered the leading the celebrities of Hollywood. they are getting paid serious money to just turn up and events and be seen. paparazzi stalk them like they are Liz taylor and Richard Burton in the past...

Yes, it's getting dumber. I heard a valid comment that the sitcoms of the 70's & 80's dealt with serious issues like racism and discrimination against women.
But recent sitcoms like 2 1/2 Men and Friends don't get into anything deep. I'd even say that Seinfeld deals with fluff compared with old sitcoms like All In The Family, Family Ties and Different Strokes. |

I found it and watched it per your suggestion. Its funny and theres an appearance by Sharon Tate.
I also found an episode with Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs...
