I recently interviewed at a company for a part time position. But they've never sponsored a work visa before and are unsure whether they are eligible to do so...
When can a company sponsor a visa and what is involved? |

Wouldn't it be much easier for the company to just ask immigration rather than go through people who, almost certainly, have no real experience in this matter? Nah, let's ask a bunch of people who aren't involved instead of the people actually doing the work at the local immigration office. |

It depends on the nature of the work.
If you mean hire a teacher (E2) then it is well documented.
If you mean something else (E7) then it is case dependent but basically involves applying for permission (labor and immigration) to hire a foreigner (by showing that they cannot find a Korean person who is able to do the job).
