Gwangmyeong is a nice city. Do you have any specific questions? What part of the city are you considering?

Good place, and you are basically right next door to Seoul. Litterally, you will not find a city closer to Seoul than Gwangmyeong. I lived there for a year and thought it was great. The foreign community tends to reside near Cheolsan because that's where a lot of hogwons are located. Overall, great place to live.

Gwangmyeong schools will be governed by SMOE soon, so I've heard.

I personally find Gwangmyeong a bit dull and run down, at least it is around the subway station and nearby Dongs. It gets worse as you go towards Cheonwang, but a little better towards Cholsan.

Gwangmyeong is pretty big though, so there could be nicer areas I've never seen.

I would basically consider it to Seoul. It's only like 10,000 in a cab to Hongdae.

Has anyone who responded that they live here heard of the English Village there? From what I've heard of the EV's they are usually in a more rual area, so I'm wondering if this one is different than the other ones (i.e. not so much like a whole different world/Disneyworld). Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Very Happy
